Rupal Mathur, md


Dr. Mathur is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Rice University Summa Cum Laude. She received her Medical Degree from Baylor College of Medicine With Honors. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine through Harvard Medical School at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Mathur practiced primary care for several years before deciding to transition her career to weight loss medicine. As a primary care provider (PCP), the majority of Dr. Mathur’s patients struggled with their weight, but she felt unable to help them due to lack of time and training. That is why Dr. Mathur decided to open Lifelong Weight Loss and dedicate her practice solely to weight loss medicine. She has completed over 500 hours of independent and supervised study in the field of weight loss medicine. Dr. Mathur has helped thousands of patients live a healthier life. She has been featured in leading publications including The Wall Street Journal, The Houston Chronicle, and the MyFitnessPal blog.

 

Danielle sookoor,

Danielle is a NCCPA certified Physician Assistant. She received her bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Tarleton State University in 2007 with a 4.0 GPA. She went on to obtain her Medical Laboratory Sciences bachelor’s degree in 2008. She began working in the blood bank at a children’s hospital in DFW for a couple of years before she learned of the Physician Assistant profession. She then went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2013 with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. She worked in Internal Medicine and then Geriatric Psychiatry within the Tampa Bay area before moving back to Texas to be near family.  

Upon her return to Texas, she found herself trying to understand why it was so difficult to lose weight and the pitfalls she encountered while treating patients in Internal Medicine. She began to study the etiology behind weight loss and the barriers we all face. By sheer luck, she was put in contact with Dr. Rupal Mathur who was looking to add to her practice. Danielle is in contact with Dr. Mathur daily and reviews charts with her regularly to ensure the best possible outcomes for all patients.  

 

Shawna steffan, PA-C

Shawna is a NCCPA certified physician assistant with over 12 years of experience in Internal and Family Medicine. She has extensive experience in Primary Care, Women’s Health, and Chronic Care Management.

Shawna obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science and Master’s Degree of Physician Assistant Science from Gannon University in Erie, PA. She moved to Texas in 2023 for her husband’s job and is enjoying living in a big city.

Shawna adheres to Dr. Mathur’s guidelines and teachings when caring for patients at Lifelong Weight Loss, and she reviews patient charts regularly with Dr. Mathur to ensure continuity of care. She provides comprehensive, holistic, and customized quality health care and treats each patient as a unique individual to develop the best possible treatment plan.

In her spare time, Shawna enjoys spending time with her husband and their four dogs, traveling, and the outdoors. She looks forward to working with you on your weight loss journey.
